Lentils stew recipe
Laugh at cold weather
Lentils stew is a great way to fight against cold weather: after a dish of this stew you won’t notice it is winter. The recipe we will share here is one of the many which might exist; you can vary some of its ingredients if you wish.
For this recipe you will need the following ingredients: 350 or 400 grams of lentils, 2 big onions, 1/2 kg potatoes, 1 red belly sweet pepper, garlic, 1 1/5 kg tomatoes or 1 liter tomato sauce, bacon (a piece of about 300 grams), 2 chorizos, oil, salt, and pepper (if you wish).
How to prepare it?
Before you start preparing the stew, you should make sure the lentils are clean and then put them in a bowl with water for a few hours. Then, cook them in water with salt until they are almost done, and put them apart for later.
Next, put oil, along with the onion, red belly sweet pepper and garlic chopped in small pieces in a saucepan and cook until the garlic starts looking golden. Then add the chorizos and bacon (cut in small pieces), the tomatoes (chopped very small) or tomato sauce, a bit of water and salt, and cook for about 5 minutes.
Then, add the lentils and the potatoes (cut in small cubes of about 1cm) and continue cooking (with low fire) for about 15 or 20 minutes. Then turn the fore off, wait about 5 minutes and serve.
