Chicken tomato sauce
Chicken tuco is a sauce made with tomatoes and chicken. This sauce is very popular in Uruguay and is great for pasta, especially with spaghetti, fettuccini, or gnocchi.
For this chicken tomato sauce recipe you will need: about 200 grams of chicken without bones and cut in small pieces, 1 can of tomato paste, 1 clove of garlic, 1 small onion, 1 carrot, oregano, oil, salt, sugar, and water.
How to prepare this sauce?
Put the onion and garlic chopped in small pieces along with the grated carrot in a saucepan with oil and fry for two or three minutes or until the onion starts looking transparent. Do this with the fire set to low. Then, add the chicken and continue cooking for a couple of minutes. After that, add the tomatoes paste, salt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, oregano, and a bit of water. Cook for about 15 or 20 minutes.
